Roasted Serrano Chili Margarita
Winter or summer, a margarita is always a good treat. And you don’t need to be in Mexico to enjoy them either! So we introduce the ridiculously spicy but amazingly rewarding, Roasted Serrano Chili Margarita.
- 2oz Tequila
- 1/2oz Lime Ficks
- 1/2oz lime juice
- 1oz natural simple syrup
- 2 Serrano chili peppers
- Lime wedge for garnish
Finely chop the Serrano peppers and place onto a skillet on low heat. Roast for 2-3 minutes to heat the natural oils in the peppers and then remove from the heat and let cool for a couple minutes. Add tequila, lime juice, simple syrup, and Lime Ficks to a cocktail shaker and shake with ice. Place the peppers into a strainer and pour the mixture through it into an iced cocktail glass and add a lime for garnish. The roasted pepper mixture is a much hotter version of a spicy margarita given the oils that are released – if you’re feeling brave, add the cooked peppers to the cocktail. Enjoy!
